HYPOCRISY…at its best!

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys & girls…today I am going to give you a short lesson on a very interesting word the world knows as, "HYPOCRITE".

According to the Dictionary, Hypocrite means - "a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs."

Hypocrisy is no stranger to the world. We see it in almost every organisation and more popularly now, we see it in the front page of every major Newspaper! Statements given by our so-called esteemed powers that be, to statements given by management of companies. It boils down eventually to the same…same crap given on a daily basis, sometimes given twice daily or heaven forbid it could be three or even more! Depending on how F.O.S. they are. (F.O.S. = Full of Shit)

A traditional and popular saying that had been proven time again is the phrase, “Actions Speak Louder Than Words”. I often wonder, VERY often nowadays, do these people ACTUALLY THINK before they open their mouths??? It is amazing the things they say, and to make it worse, their Language proficiency is absolutely HORRENDOUS!!!

Companies who take action and do what they set out to do are flourishing! Yet companies who flourish through utter Bullshit from day 1 will flourish, but Bullshit will NEVER keep them there.

When will humanity regain its existence?

It is not only frustrating, but it is also sickening to see day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, the hypocrisy from these people! I understand that in some cases, an official statement is required. But not at the rate that we’re going through! Why say something when you DO NOT mean it and you are NOT practicing it, yet you ask, request, order and EXPECT us to do it? Don’t you feel like a DUMBASS when you say such things? Or does your mental capacity limit you to a certain amount of knowledge that nothing can ever enter those thick heads? Are you concerned for the overall performance of the team and company or are you (most likely) just concerned for your OWN ASS-ES?

It’s no wonder why we are still a 3rd World Country!

There is a saying, “Never say Never”!

Approximately 3 years ago, the year was 2005. I had just begun my first job after graduation. I was single, available and at the verge of giving up looking for that special one. Most of my friends were attached in a way or another, basically they had someone special in their lives. So I would constantly ask myself Why! Why da bloody hell am I STILL single?!?!?! In order to answer that question, I just stopped looking and perhaps God might wave some magic upon my luck and life…

3 years down the road, to the present day today in the year 2008, I am getting hitched finally! There is an Accounting term called LIFO – Last In First Out. Its funny and weird when I look back and realise that though I was one of the LAST of my friends who found their significant other, I can’t believe that I am one of the FIRST to actually say “I DO”. But then again we’re not in a race but it seems funny how things turned out in life. I am truly glad though, that whoever I know had found their significant other and life could not be better for us all! Gone are days where we’d ask whether you have a girlfriend to days now, where we ask when you’d be getting married. Evolution…

So, you’ve read my journey with

Persis

throughout our 3 years together, especially our colleagues whom have had first hand observations if I may say so. The proposal was carried out some 30 metres in the air, and now we are nearing the day the two of us had been waiting for, for a long time. But before that, we had to take it step by step. So if Step 1 were to be my Proposal, this blog is dedicated to Step 2 – Legally Bonded!Persisjeeonn_101

No religion ever supports the idea of a divorce, and neither does the law! When the Registrar of Marriage speaks, he/she would say that we are legally accepted as husband and wife to the end. And to the end and beyond infinity is what I would hope it will become. Of course beyond infinity is something we can only hope as we do not know what comes after life. Scientifically I mean. Haha!

So 24th June 2008, a Tuesday to be exact. We had submitted our application forms at Putrajaya earlier and the date was set. I am curious what work is done in the office there. Mon, Tues, Wed & Fri are for the ceremonies. ONLY Thurs are for submitting forms. Both events are only in the morning till 11.30am. After lunch, I guess its tea-time??? Hehehe. Well, that’s the law set by them and we have to follow if we are to be legally accepted as husband and wife.

My Wife-to-be was simply elegant and beautiful in her silk dress and new shoes. I got the small rose bouquet. Persisjeeonn_029_1

We arrived early! It was about only a 20 minute drive from her house to Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara at Putrajaya. Persisjeeonn_001 We arrived there at 8.15am. Both families joined as well as my grandparents and my Best Friend who will also be my Best Man David, who graciously helped us to take photos. He’s a Professional and we’re very thankful to him for taking time off to shoot our Registration. It was like any other government department, we had to take a number!!! Macam pegi apply IC or passport. Mou Kau Chor!

Then after checking our ICs and our witnesses ICs, we waited for our turn. The good thing about Putrajaya is its decoration, which makes it the most popular place to Register your Marriage. Though its an office, but they provide nice deco where the couple and family can take nice photos. Finally they called our name and we entered the Room. The room was even nicer, decorated chairs for both side of the family, and a special place to take a photo of the newlyweds. The Registrar waits and on the table there’s a nice metal casing where we’d place our rings. Its like really ‘Marriage-friendly’ environment. Persisjeeonn_020

The Registrar then starts talking the official stuff, and then comes the crucial moment, like in a church, she’d ask, “Do you, Mah Jee Onn, take

Persis

Dineen Rodrigeus, to be your lawfully wedded wife, ….etc etc…” and I say, “I Do”, DUH! Persisjeeonn_046

Then we sit down, and sign 3 papers, husband, wife and the 2 witnesses. Persisjeeonn_055

Next comes the exchange of the rings and followed by the smooch. But it was funny, usually they’d say, “You may now kiss the bride”. But the Registrar said, “Would you like to kiss the bride?”, I mean what kind of question is that? Maybe she’s a Registrar “In-Training”. I said, “Oh Yeah!” hahaha! Persisjeeonn_059

May I present to you, Mr & Mrs Mah!

The Registrar left the room and gave us time to take photos etc.

It was early so we had something light to eat at the cafeteria. Its huge and modern for a cafeteria, but only 2 stalls open. Yet another weird thing. One sells food – roti canai and stuff, the other sells drinks. So whoever works there, I pity you guys. Same food everyday!

We then proceeded to Imperial China Restaurant for lunch. It’s the venue for our wedding dinner in December. Since we had to select the menu, I thought why not belanja everyone for lunch there. And so we did. Food was GREAT! Especially the Ostrich, prawns and “Yellow Wine Chicken”! Yummy!!!

After bidding farewell to our family members, we headed to

Lake

Gardens

, KL. Since we were all dressed up, and David has his Camera, we took a couple of Portrait shots there. Truth be told, it was my very first time entering

Lake

Gardens

in 26 years of my life!

Here are a few shots and thanks man for doing it:

All in all, it was a day to savour, from start till end. We both had our own journeys prior to fate leading us to meet 3 years ago. We had our own challenges and experiences, but I must say dear, you Complete me…

The crucial part of my life missing had now been filled, and it feels great! Ever wonder what to be on Cloud 9 feels like? I have felt it on this day. And I will feel it another 2 more times this year. We are now legally accepted. We have yet to be Religously accepted and of course the traditional ceremony and dinner after that.

How many can score a Hat trick of Cloud 9 feelings in one year itself? I know I will…

I Love you Dear!
