2nd Year Anniversary - What A Wonderful Day!
Monday, September 17th, 2007What a wonderful day it was…
After a long spell of absence from a day together out, just relaxing and enjoying each other’s company, we finally both took a break to celebrate our 2nd year Anniversary last Sunday, 16th September. Actual date was a day later but it was a Monday so decided to do it a day earlier. I knew months ago what I had envisioned to achieve by the end of the night. Problem is, how, where etc.
As the days count down to last Sunday, I had everything planned…with exception of the Restaurant where we had our dinner. The initial venue was undergoing renovation so, that screwed up an important venue. Thankfully I had Bernice’s Manual for the Best Restaurants in Malaysia to refer and choose my venue. Finally it was decided to be at Prego’s Italian Restaurant at the Westin.
Started off with a movie, Rush Hour 3, which was highly recommended by all who I’ve asked, and I myself HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who has not seen it. You’ll laugh till u drop man! After the movie, it would be a stroll around the confinements of 1 Utama, buying Mooncakes etc. We then drove to KL for the dinner.
One thing I would have to say I screwed up was my poor recollection of the road directions in KL! I had to come up with some ways to ask my darling how to get there without revealing the place! Hahaha! Sut Pai! Took a walk along Bintang Walk before adjourning to Prego’s. Neither have I nor any of my friends been to this place, so I was just going here based on recommendations from a book! It is not totally romantic but good enough! Dim lights, friendly service and good recommendations from the waiters. We started off with some Buffalo Mozarella, a cold dish but delicious! For main courses, Persis had a Nanose with Linguini.
Its Pasta with its herbs and virgin oil with generous amounts of some leaves (dunno the name), and 2 pieces of fresh King Prawns! I had the Linguini Aglio Olio, my favourite plain pasta with extra virgin oil, garlic, basil and parmesan with Black Pepper grinded on top of it. I have to say, the portion is not big, BUT the taste, the texture, is just FANTASTIC! Best Aglio Olio I’ve tasted! That was not enough,
so we ordered a Pizza, with Pepperoni and Red Pepper with Chili Powder, cheese etc. Thin crust but tasted good! And for the finale, dessert, a big mistake! Ordered 2 when we should’ve had 1 only! Both came highly recommended, the Choc Mud Pie and the Tiramisu.
Thank god we ate the Mud Pie first! The texture was like ice-cream. And the chocolate, DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! Go
od!!! Overall, the pricing was quite reasonable compared to other luxurious hotels.
So moving on to the last item on the agenda. Drove her to the Lake Titiwangsa as we lined up to get onto the Eye on Malaysia! I was given wrong info by the person on the phone when I called up a few days earlier. They said the ride was 30mins long. But when we go there, they said only 12mins!!! Damn it, but still, gotta finish
what I started. And so, there, in the gondola, as we go up into the sky, the humans below looked like little dots, the lights around the Lake was exhilarating, and it was rather freezing in the gondola.
Without further ado, as what a man should do, regardless if it makes one look like a fool, but we had to make our partner drool, and so we go old school – knelt down (thank god the space was just Perfect!) in front of her and uttered those words. I tell you man, to all the guys, do it and you shall see a happiness on the face of your loved one, a Unique kind of Happiness you have NEVER seen be4 and will FOREVER remember it!
And so ends a wonderful day, with many words to say, in which months before I had to pray, so that everything would be perfect in any way, last but not least a new chapter of a story to begin with today…I Love You Dear…
