Tyres, Tense & Tired

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

Ipoh, Perak…a truly perfect city to live in, free of traffic jams, scenic mountain views and a population that I would rate one of the healthiest in Malaysia. There is a saying, "the prettiest girls are found in Ipoh". :)

And so there we were, Esvary, my colleague and I on our way to Ipoh via the North-South Highway. It was about 2 pm and the sun was just scorching!!! literally cook my thighs as I drove! I had checked the car the night before, engine oil, water for the radiator, battery water, car tyres etc. Suddenly I heard weird sounds getting louder, I switched off the radio and air-cond and the sound became clearer. few seconds later and *BANG*!!! a huge bursting sound and my left back tyre went bust! as i was slowing down, i looked at my rearview mirror and saw bits n pieces of tyre scattered. i quickly got onto the emergency lane and stopped my car.

Got off, took a look at tyre and sighed…did not wanted to waste time so I told EsvChange_tyreary to bear with me. But she had not much of a choice either!!! HAHA!! The reason is, Firstly, there were absolutely NO trees and NO bushes, NOTHING whatsoever to shed yourself. Secondly, the sun was literally BLAZING HOT!!! as Esvary wrote in her blog, we could evenChange_tyre2 cook  an egg on the road. I couldn’t even touch the road as it was wayyyy tooooo hot! Anyway, transferred all the barang from the boChange_tyre_3ot to the backseat. And in my own personal record, completed the tyre exchange operation in 15minutes! I was quite surprised though, did I do it that fast??? All I could think off was getting the tyre changed fast so we could reach Ipoh in time so as not to totally disrupt our schedule for that day. Sweating like a mad cow i was, lost bout 3kg i did (put it back on when I returned to PJ, haha :P…)

To make things worse, we had to travel up to Taiping that evening and cancelled 2 other appointments. Managed to get to Ipoh, checked in and got to the tyre workshop just in time for them to give me a new set just before they close shop! It was a day never I will forget. A truly once in a lifetime experience…I hope…So to all out there, fastest slimming technique that’ll cost waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay much CHEAPER: practice changing your tyres NOT at home, but at the North-South Highway. note: please choose a spot on the Highway that has NO trees and NOTHING to shed yourself.

Y am I so tensed??? Just thinking about my schedule for the month of June can put me off almost instantly. Initially the plan was 2nd to 6th will be flying to Hong Kong, 7th to 10th will be flying to Singapore, 11th to 18th will be driving up to Perak!!! Its like I’ll be away for 2 n a half weeks! I have changed my Perak trip so wun be dat tiring, i hope. Though the opportunity is a great one for me, it is also the my saddest time of the year. the reason is because I will miss my dear’s burfday, it’ll be the first time we celebrate her burfday as a couple. ;(

to add more salt to my wound, i will also miss the day she and her family moving to their new home. ;(

my promise to help her and her family will be gone, my promise to be here for her burfday gone as well, all my plans shattered. My feelings is like my tyre situation, it just BURST! n its now in pieces… ;(   ;(   ;(

That’s the cruel thing in life, sometimes we have to make decisions, or do things that although not our priority but has to be done. Therefore whilst in Hong Kong, I will be singing, "I Left My Heart In Kuala Lumpur"

Y am I tired??? Just looking and even thinking about my schedule for the month of June is enough to tire me out there and then!

Well, its gonna be one hell of a ride this coming months!
